Ben Payne raced his way to a top-ten finish at the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday. In doing so, he set a new personal best of 2:15.46. Not only that, Ben was also the 4th American in the pro race, which was won by Ghirmay Ghebreslassie in 2:07:51.
Payne recently joined the Colorado Air National Guard after finishing a decade of active duty and 10 years as an Air Force pilot. With more time to focus on training, and more experience under his belt, Ben was happy to race NYC after missing out in 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy.
